When will we get Fortnite on the Fire TV and the Fire Tablets? Epic Games has released Fortnite in its Battle Royale form on seemingly EVERY platform under the sun EXCEPT Android. They’ve announced that it’s coming to Android, but we’re waiting, and waiting and waiting.
Fortnite has pretty much taken over at our house, and as soon as it drops for Android we’ll be testing it, and the good news is that this is a game from Epic Games using their very own Unreal engine, and designed from the ground up to scale across platforms.
Update August 10th:
It looks like Amazon’s entire Fire platform falls short on requirements. While Fortnite on iOS only requires 2GB of RAM, on Android the minimum is 3GB, which excludes everything Amazon’s made to this point. The GPUs in even Amazon’s latest tablets are also weak, and we thought that would potentially be the showstopper, but it looks like a lack of RAM is going to be the more obvious problem.
- OS: 64 bit Android, 5.0 or higher
- RAM: 3GB or higher
- GPU: Adreno 530 or higher, Mali-G71 MP20, Mali-G72 MP12 or higher
