Somehow one of the coolest new Fire games I’ve played in a while is a retro (think SNES) game created as a promotion for a Netflix TV series. Seriously.
Marked down from $3 to $1, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is a 3D puzzle platformer and Xbox port that plays well on the Fire TV platform.
Wayward Souls is an action RPG “rogue-like” game with procedurally generated levels and permadeath. Unfortunately, the Amazon version isn’t tagged as compatible with the Fire TV platform. I am trying to get that corrected.
The Bard’s Tale is a kind of reboot of the original Bard’s Tale series of my youth. It’s not actually tied directly to any of the 3 original Bard’s Tale games. InXile, which has been at the heart of some other cool projects like Wasteland 2, is also working on a true sequel called Bard’s Tale IV. … Continue reading The Bard’s Tale
Plague Inc. is a “Strategy Simulation” mobile game that’s been out since 2011 on iOS and that has been in the Amazon app store for almost 5 years after being ported to Android by Miniclip. It’s one of those apps that you see in the charts and it’s $0.99 and either you grab it at … Continue reading Plague Inc.
OK, this game is, putting it simply, stupid. It’s also kind of a hoot, and nothing beats free for testing whether or or not it works for you. Run around, lick things, destroy things, and jump on trampolines. You know, goat things. My son (9) discovered it and played for hours immediately. Fire Hardware Compatibility: … Continue reading Goat Simulator: Free Through Amazon Underground
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) is an RPG originally released in 2003 on the XBox, that has since been ported to a number of platforms. This is a full port of a serious console game to Android, and a lot of fun to play. The game is a console RPG set long … Continue reading Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

It’s the sort of game that will give hours and hours and hours … Continue reading Terraria
Minecraft: Pocket Edition, sometimes referred to as Minecraft PE, is one my son’s favorite Kindle games. The latest version includes “The End” and many other things that were previously missing from Pocket Edition and brings pocket edition much closer to “real” Minecraft. It’s not completely there, and it doesn’t support mods and playing on full Minecraft … Continue reading Minecraft: Pocket Edition
The original NES Duck Tales game is considered a classic, and the Duck Takes Remastered remake is pretty cool. It’s available on just about any platform you can imagine, including Android. Amazon sells this game for the Fire platforms, and it’s available for the Kindle Fire platform free through Amazon Underground, or for $5 otherwise, including the … Continue reading Duck Tales: Remastered
