Wayward Souls

Wayward Souls is an action RPG “rogue-like” game with procedurally generated levels and permadeath. Unfortunately, the Amazon version isn’t tagged as compatible with the Fire TV platform. I am trying to get that corrected.

Grand Theft Auto III – 10 Year Anniversary Edition

Continuing a theme, Grand Theft Auto III is a PS2/Xbox game ported to mobile platforms, released for Android in 2012.  Like other ports from the same era, you’re getting the full game, in this case called the 10 Year Anniversary Edition, adapted for touch screen input.  This version actually has higher resolution, upgraded textures, and increased draw … Continue reading Grand Theft Auto III – 10 Year Anniversary Edition

The Bard’s Tale

The Bard’s Tale is a kind of reboot of the original Bard’s Tale series of my youth.  It’s not actually tied directly to any of the 3 original Bard’s Tale games.  InXile, which has been at the heart of some other cool projects like Wasteland 2, is also working on a true sequel called Bard’s Tale IV. … Continue reading The Bard’s Tale

Plague Inc.

Plague Inc. is a “Strategy Simulation” mobile game that’s been out since 2011 on iOS and that has been in the Amazon app store for almost 5 years after being ported to Android by Miniclip.  It’s one of those apps that you see in the charts and it’s $0.99 and either you grab it at … Continue reading Plague Inc.

Fire Hardware Compatibility: … Continue reading Goat Simulator: Free Through Amazon Underground

Terraria

Terraria ranks up with Minecraft: Pocket Edition as one my son’s favorite Kindle games.  It’s the sort of game that will give hours and hours and hours of gameplay. You will see a lot of comparisons between Terraria and Minecraft, and they’re not unjustified. Both are complex games with procedurally generated worlds, digging, crafting, and lots of … Continue reading Terraria

Minecraft: Pocket Edition

Minecraft: Pocket Edition, sometimes referred to as Minecraft PE, is one my son’s favorite Kindle games.  The latest version includes “The End” and many other things that were previously missing from Pocket Edition and brings pocket edition much closer to “real” Minecraft. It’s not completely there, and it doesn’t support mods and playing on full Minecraft … Continue reading Minecraft: Pocket Edition

2014 Amazon Fire Game Controller (1st Gen)

Amazon’s first generation Fire TV Game Controller was a Bluetooth controller that works well with Amazon’s entire Fire ecosystem.
